នៅក្នុងតំបន់អាស៊ីភាគបូព៌ា ប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ពឹងផ្អែកខ្លាំងជាងគេបំផុត ទៅលើទីផ្សារអាមេរិក។ ដូច្នេះ រដ្ឋាភិបាលលោកត្រាំ (Trump) អាចបង្កើនសម្ពាធទៅលើរបប ហ៊ុន សែន ដើម្បីឲ្យកាត់ផ្តាច់ទំនាក់ទំនង ប្រកបដោយគ្រោះថ្នាក់ ជាមួយប្រទេសចិនកុម្មុយនីស្ត។ គេអាចតម្រូវឲ្យមានការដាក់កំពង់ផែសមុទ្រ រាម — ដែលបច្ចុប្បន្ន ជាមូលដ្ឋានយោធាចិន — ឲ្យនៅក្រោមការត្រួតពិនិត្យអន្តរជាតិ ហើយគេអាចកំចាត់បណ្តាញឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មចិន (Chinese Mafia) ដែលកំពុងប្រើប្រាស់ប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ជាទីតាំងឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មអន្តរជាតិ។
ក្នុងរយៈពេល ២០ ឆ្នាំចុងក្រោយនេះ ឱនភាពពាណិជ្ជកម្មរវាងសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក និងកម្ពុជា — ដែលមានចំនួនលើសពី $100 ពាន់លានដុល្លារ — បានផ្តល់អត្ថប្រយោជន៍ដ៏ធំធេងដល់គ្រួសារ ហ៊ុន សែន តាមរយៈអំពើពុករលួយ។ នៅពេលជាមួយគ្នានេះ ក្រុមហ៊ុនវាយនភណ្ឌចិន នៅស្រុកចិន ក៏ទទួលបានអត្ថប្រយោជន៍ដ៏ធំធេងដែរ ពីការប្រើប្រាស់ វិញ្ញាបនបត្រប្រភពដើម (Certificate of Origin) ក្លែងក្លាយ។
In East Asia, Cambodia stands out as the country most economically dependent on the U.S. market. The Trump administration is in a strong position to pressure the Phnom Penh regime to sever its dangerous ties with communist China. This would entail placing the Ream naval base — currently serving as a Chinese military outpost — under international supervision, and dismantling the Chinese criminal networks that have turned Cambodia into a hub for transnational crime.
Over the past two decades, Cambodia’s trade surplus with the United States — exceeding $100 billion — has primarily enriched the ruling Hun Sen dynasty, fueled by systemic corruption. At the same time, Chinese textile companies have also benefited, exploiting Cambodia’s trade privileges through the use of fraudulent certificates of origin.
