ថ្ងៃ ១៧ មេសា ២០២៥ នេះ គឺជាខួបទី ៥០ នៃថ្ងៃឡើងកាន់អំណាច របស់ពួកខ្មែរក្រហម ដឹកនាំដោយ ប៉ុល ពត កាលពីថ្ងៃ ១៧ មេសា ១៩៧៥។

សូមបងប្អូនជនរួមជាតិ កុំភ្លេចថា ពេលនោះ ហ៊ុន សែន ជាមេទ័ពខ្មែរក្រហមមួយរូប ដែលបានចូលរួមសម្លាប់ជនជាតិខ្មែរស្លូតត្រង់ ប្រមាណ ២ លាននាក់។ ទាល់តែដល់ពាក់កណ្តាលឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៧ ទើប ហ៊ុន សែន រត់ទៅប្រទេសវៀតណាម ពីព្រោះ ប៉ុល ពត តាមដាក់ទណ្ឌកម្ម ដោយសារតែ ហ៊ុន សែន នេះ អសមត្ថភាពក្នុងការការពារទឹកដី នៅភូមិភាគបូព៌ា ហើយចាប់ផ្តើមមានគំនិតក្បត់ជាតិ។

ក្នុងក្របខណ្ឌនៃការចរចាស្វែងរកសន្តិភាព ឆ្ពោះទៅការចុះហត្ថលេខាលើកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងទីក្រុងប៉ារីស ក្នុងឆ្នាំ ១៩៩១ អ្នកសារព័ត៌មានបារាំងមួយរូប បានសួរទៅសម្តេចព្រះនរោត្តម សីហនុ ថា ៖ "តើហេតុអ្វីបានជាព្រះអង្គ យល់ព្រមសហការជាមួយ ខៀវ សំផន ដែលជាឃាតករ តែមិនព្រមសហការជាមួយ ហ៊ុន សែន?"។ សម្តេចព្រះនរោត្តម សីហនុ បានឆ្លើយតបទៅវិញថា ៖ "ខៀវ សំផន គ្រាន់តែជាឃាតករទេ តែ ហ៊ុន សែន ជាឃាតករផង និងជាជនក្បត់ជាតិផង"។

April 17, 2025, marks the 50th anniversary of the Khmer Rouge’s rise to power, led by Pol Pot on April 17, 1975.

Let us, fellow Cambodians, not forget that at that time, Hun Sen was a Khmer Rouge military officer who subsequently took part in the killing of approximately 2 million innocent Cambodians. It was only around mid-1977 that Hun Sen fled to Vietnam because Pol Pot wanted to punish him due to his failure to defend Cambodia’s territory in the eastern region and because he began harboring treasonous thoughts.

During the peace negotiations leading up to the signing of the Paris Peace Agreements in 1991, a French journalist asked His Majesty Norodom Sihanouk:

“Why are you willing to cooperate with Khieu Samphan, who is a murderer, but not with Hun Sen?”

His Majesty Norodom Sihanouk responded:

“Khieu Samphan is merely a murderer, but Hun Sen is both a murderer and a national traitor.”
