CAMPAIGN TO FORCE HUN SEN TO STEP DOWN TO SAVE CAMBODIA FROM DESTRUCTION
Cambodian patriots and democrats worldwide have launched a campaign demanding that Hun Sen step down before his continued grip on power leads to the irreversible destruction of Cambodia.
The escalating conflict with neighbouring Thailand is not an accident. It is the direct consequence of Hun Sen’s actions and decisions, which have turned Cambodia into an international pariah and a regional security risk.
This crisis has two clear and undeniable causes:
1. Cambodia’s transformation into a sanctuary for transnational organized crime
Under Hun Sen’s rule, Cambodia has become a hub for transnational criminal gangs that are now being dismantled by law enforcement agencies across the world—except in Cambodia, where they are protected by the regime.
The Chinese-born gang leader Chen Zhi has not only been granted Cambodian citizenship but has been elevated to the role of personal adviser to Hun Sen and adviser to Prime Minister Hun Manet, with ministerial rank. This blatant collusion between the regime and organized crime has effectively turned Cambodia into a mafia state.
This criminal entanglement gives Thailand legitimate grounds for retaliation and ensures that Cambodia will receive no meaningful international support as long as it is governed by a regime intertwined with organized crime.
2. Hun Sen’s deliberate rejection of the Paris Peace Agreements
Hun Sen has systematically refused to invoke the 1991 Paris Peace Agreements—the only internationally accepted mechanism capable of restoring peace while safeguarding Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He refuses because these agreements also require democracy, respect for human rights, and an end to authoritarian rule. Hun Sen’s dictatorship and dynastic ambitions are fundamentally incompatible with these principles.
As long as the Hun family clings to power, peace is impossible. Cambodia faces isolation, conflict, and eventual collapse.
The Cambodian people therefore issue a final and unequivocal message to Hun Sen:
“If you love your country even a little, if you have even a shred of compassion for your people, step down—now.”
