ហ៊ុន សែន នាំគ្រោះថ្នាក់ឲ្យកម្ពុជា / Hun Sen is putting Cambodia in danger (*)
ហ៊ុន សែន បានសម្លាប់លទ្ធិប្រជាធិបតេយ្យ ដោយរំលាយគណបក្សសង្គ្រោះជាតិ ដែលជាគណបក្សប្រឆាំងពិតប្រាកដតែមួយគត់ និងដោយមិនព្រមរៀបចំការបោះឆ្នោតត្រឹមត្រូវ ដែលមានគូប្រកួតពិតប្រាកដ តតាំងជាមួយគាត់។ ការសម្លាប់លទ្ធិប្រជាធិបតេយ្យបែបនេះ នាំមកនូវអស្ថេរភាព និងគ្រោះថ្នាក់ ដល់កម្ពុជា ពីព្រោះប្រជារាស្ត្រខ្មែរ មិនអាចសង្ឃឹមលើការបោះឆ្នោតបានទេ ដូច្នេះ មានតែរើបម្រះ ដោយងើបឈរជាធ្លុងមួយ ដើម្បីផ្តួលរំលំរបបផ្តាច់ការសព្វថ្ងៃ។
(*) HUN SEN IS PUTTING CAMBODIA IN DANGER
Cambodia has entered a phase of uncertainty and instability with the risk of violence since Prime Minister Hun Sen, continuing his lurch into authoritarianism, arbitrarily dissolved the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), the only opposition party offering a credible alternative to the current regime.
My calls to the people and the armed forces of Cambodia to rise up against the regime will continue until the regime has restored to the opposition its right to participate in the country’s political life and re-established democratic mechanisms allowing the holding of real elections with the participation of the opposition. There must be a return to the liberal and pluralist system of democracy laid down by the Paris Peace Agreements of 1991.
All of Cambodia’s friends must remind Hun Sen that, in any democracy, the opposition plays a fundamental role by providing a counterweight to limit the excesses of power (checks and balances), while allowing a dialogue between all the political forces of the country. This dialogue guarantees peace and stability, while containing popular discontent in the expectation of elections which allow the sovereign people to resolve grievances in a peaceful manner.
Simply getting rid of the opposition to keep himself in power by force means that Hun Sen is playing with fire and putting Cambodia in danger.
