In my capacity as CNRP acting president I appeal to the armed forces not to listen to orders from illegal prime minister Hun Sen, who is an usurper. This dictator has recently instructed the armed forces to arrest me when I come back to Cambodia later this year and to violently crackdown on democrats and patriots who will rise up to peacefully demand a positive change through democratic means, meaning genuine, free and fair elections.
I call on the armed forces not to use their weapons to shoot at innocent citizens when instructed to do so by Hun Sen. I call on each soldier who has a gun in his hands to keep it to defend himself, our people and our country's territory. They must not defend the current dictatorial regime stemming from the fake election of July 2018. The world's community of democratic nations considers that election as illegitimate, which can only produce an illegitimate national assembly, which in turn can only produce an illegitimate government: the one in place embodied by Hun Sen. Therefore the national armed forces must not defend the current illegitimate and illegal Hun Sen regime; they must instead defend the people who are the only master of the land.
Any order to soldiers to shoot at -- with the intention to kill -- innocent citizens who are peacefully protesting governmental abuses, is illegal and inhumane. No soldier should obey such an order. I call on the armed forces not to stand by the current dictatorial and traitorous regime but to be instead on the side of the people who are demanding freedom and justice as well as a new and responsible leadership with integrity for Cambodia.
