THE RISING COST OF STRONGMAN RULE IN CAMBODIA

(...) Cambodia is currently being stripped of its natural resources – including timber, rubber, and sand – for private gain. Environmental degradation – especially deforestation – is accelerating and corruption is running rampant, with cash from opaque sources flowing into Cambodia’s casinos, banks, and real-estate market (...).

(...) កម្ពុជា កំពុងតែត្រូវឯកជនមួយក្រុមប្លន់ នូវសម្បត្តិធម្មជាតិរបស់ខ្លួន មានព្រៃឈើ ចំការកៅស៊ូ និងខ្សាច់ជាដើម។ ការបំផ្លាញបរិស្ថាន មានការកាប់ព្រៃឈើជាដើម ធ្វើឡើងកាន់តែលឿនទៅៗ ទន្ទឹមនឹងអំពើពុករលួយដល់ឆ្អឹង និងការលាងលុយកខ្វក់ តាមរយៈបនល្បែងស៊ីសង ធនាគារក្លែងក្លាយ និងការជួញដូរដីធ្លី។ (...)
