The independent Cambodia government of October 23, will support the candidacy of U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he helps to effectively dismantle the transnational criminal network led by Chen Zhi. Chen Zhi was convicted, had an arrest warrant issued against him, and his assets seized by the U.S. Court in New York on October 14, 2025.

This criminal organization is based in Cambodia and has been particularly active along the Cambodia–Thailand border under the protection of the Phnom Penh government, with which Chen Zhi maintains close ties, serving as an advisor to both Hun Sen and Hun Manet. The crackdown on this network and its accomplices has become the main source of the ongoing dispute between Cambodia and Thailand.
