ថ្ងៃនេះ ជាខួបទី ៤៥ នៃការឡើងកាន់អំណាច របស់ពួកខ្មែរក្រហម ដឹកនាំដោយ ប៉ុល ពត កាលពីថ្ងៃ ១៧ មេសា ១៩៧៥។ របប ប៉ុល ពត បានធ្វើឲ្យប្រជារាស្រ្តខ្មែរ វេទនាយ៉ាងខ្លាំង ហើយបណ្តាលឲ្យពលរដ្ឋ បាត់បង់ជីវិត ប្រមាណ ២ លាននាក់។ របបនេះ បានប្រព្រឹត្តអំពើឧក្រិដ្ឋរបស់ខ្លួន ដោយសារតែទទួលបានការគាំទ្រ ពីចិនកុម្មុយនីស្ត។

សូមកុំភ្លេចថា ថ្នាក់ដឹកនាំរបប ហ៊ុន សែន សព្វថ្ងៃ គឺជាអតីតកម្មាភិបាល និងមេទ័ពខ្មែរក្រហម ក្នុងនោះមាន ហេង សំរិន និង ហ៊ុន សែន ជាដើម។ ពួកទាំងនេះ បានរក្សាផ្នត់គំនិតខ្មែរក្រហម ដោយគ្មានអ្វីប្រែប្រួលឡើយ គឺភាពផ្តាច់ការ សាហាវ និងល្ងង់ខ្លៅ ថែមទាំងប្លន់ទ្រព្យសម្បត្តិជាតិ ធ្វើដូចជាជ័យភ័ណ្ឌរបស់ខ្លួន។ ទាំងរបប ប៉ុល ពត ពីមុន និងរបប ហ៊ុន សែន ឥឡូវនេះ ទទួលបានការគាំទ្រពេញទំហឹង ពីចិនកុម្មុយនីស្ត។

(*) Today marks the 45th anniversary of the Khmer Rouge takeover on 17 April 1975 under Pol Pot's leadership. The Pol Pot regime caused terrible sufferings to the Cambodian people and left about 2 million people dead. The regime was able to perpetrate crimes against humanity thanks to the support of communist China.
We must not forget that the leadership of the present Hun Sen regime is made up of former Khmer Rouge apparatchiks and military commanders such as Heng Samrin and Hun Sen himself. These people have kept their original Khmer Rouge mentality characterised by authoritarianism, brutality and ignorance while they have been plundering our country's riches, which they consider as war spoils. Both the Pol Pot and the Hun Sen regimes enjoyed/enjoy unconditional support from communist China.
